The Edible Dough Bowl
We mould pizza dough around a metal bowl, bake it golden, then pile it with freshly made pasta. Eat the bowl. Everyone does.
Lucky Mama’s began in March 2020 with an Airstream trailer, an Eccles back garden, and a stubborn love of proper Italian food. Founders Mamadou Dhiam and Gaby Santos turned a lockdown side-project into one of Greater Manchester’s most-loved kitchens — built almost entirely on word of mouth.
Today we serve fresh pasta and Roman-style pizza from our bright pink home on Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton, with a takeaway spot in Monton too. The dish that started it all — pasta in an edible pizza-dough bowl — is still the one everyone queues for.

Our Story
It started in a back garden in Eccles.
In March 2020, with the world on pause, Mamadou Dhiam and Gaby Santos fired up an Airstream trailer in their garden and started cooking the Italian food they loved — with a twist nobody saw coming.
Word travelled. A loyal following grew through festivals and frost fairs across Greater Manchester until, in 2022, Lucky Mama's found a home in Chorlton — and painted it bright, unapologetic pink. A second spot opened in Monton in 2024.
