Our Story

It started in a back garden in Eccles.

In March 2020, with the world on pause, Mamadou Dhiam and Gaby Santos fired up an Airstream trailer in their garden and started cooking the Italian food they loved — with a twist nobody saw coming.

Word travelled. A loyal following grew through festivals and frost fairs across Greater Manchester until, in 2022, Lucky Mama's found a home in Chorlton — and painted it bright, unapologetic pink. A second spot opened in Monton in 2024.

Do you take bookings?

We're walk-ins only — no reservations. The Chorlton room is small and fills fast, so come early or order online for collection. It's worth the wait.

What exactly is the dough bowl?

Pizza dough moulded around a metal bowl and baked until golden, then filled with our freshly made pasta. The bowl is completely edible — that's the whole point.

Where are you, and can I get takeaway?

Our eat-in restaurant is at 565 Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy. We also have a takeaway-only spot at 217 Monton Road, Eccles, M30 9LG. Collection and delivery are available via Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

Is the food halal?

We serve no pork, and halal beef options are available on request. We aren't fully halal-certified, so please ask the team if you have specific requirements.

Do you have vegetarian options?

Plenty. The Cacio e Pepe, Mushroom Alfredo, Margherita and Capra are all veggie favourites, alongside our garlic dough balls.

Are you good for kids?

Absolutely — we're proudly kid-friendly and budget-friendly. Families are a big part of who we are.

When are you open?

Tuesday to Friday 4pm–10pm, Saturday & Sunday 1pm–10pm. Closed Mondays.
